As others said, newspapers don't publish poems. Some magazines do, including ezines. It's best to break into the poetry market by starting with unpaid ezines then save the info to use as clips for paid markets.

Some magazines offer payment for articles, stories or poetry but did not realize newspapers do.

try self publishing on iuniverse.
then you can try to sell the book.
or just go to kinko's and make up a book and then
try to sell it.
making money publishing poetry is extremely difficult
even if your poetry is great.
try publishing in newsletters and poetry books.
try using a blog to publish your poetry online.
it's hard to make a living as a poet.
but you can work for a greeting card company writing
the verses that go on greeting cards.

First-check your grammer.
any number of poems is poetry. no poetries please.
send to them by post/courier with your correct address.
I don't know of any newspaper that publishes poetry seriously.
try magazines instead.

just write to editor and ask him if they give u chance ... if ur poetry is really good u can post online also---
