You just need to open up your iTunes and untick the small checkbox next to the songs in your iTunes library that you wish to be removed from your iPod.
If you right click on the song and click delete then that will delete the song from iTunes, your computer and your iPod.
So if you only wish to remove the song from your iPod but not your iTunes library or your computer then just untick the checkbox next to the song otherwise use the delete option.

Depending on how you have it set up, there are different ways.
By default you will have a list of songs in iTunes library that will automatically update if ticked. If unticked they'll be removed on next update.
If you have it set up to update manually only, then you have to go onto iTunes, go onto your iPod (in the left side menu) then right click the song and delete.
Another method is to manually go into My Computer, onto the iPod then search through all the folders for the song in particular and right click and delete it. This takes a lot longer though.

ok well go on to itunes and open up your library (music). You will notice that next to each song is a box with a tick in it. if you want to stop a song from being downloaded onto your ipod, then unchech the box by clicking on it. If you want to delete the song compltely (this will be deleted form your library as well) then right click and choose delete.
good luck!

i have an ipod video/ fifth generation ipod but i guess it all works the same.
to delete a song in your ipod, it's either you uncheck the song from the itunes list or really delete the song from itunes. and then update your ipod and voila!

why would you wnat to delete songs that you have paid for? doesnt make sense......surely you can select which songs are on which device and which songs you just want to hang around but not listen to
what happens to the songs you have deleted and PAID for... are they gone forever... what happens if you decide you quite like the idea of listening to that song in the future.. have you got to pay for it again.
all of this smack os yet another good reason to steer clear of any software that imposes such limits on how you listne to your music. dont be a fashion victim..... reject the Apple appraoch.. go MP3 then its jsut a file that sits on your hard drive and can be shuffled around anywhere you want to.

you have to delete them for your computer, or uncheck the tick box next to the song and then update your Ipod, the song should go :) have fun! makes me laugh as they just expect you to know what to do! They don't provide any instructions do they

Very carefully I tried to do this for my daughter and deleted her whole list of tunes.
I have now discovered you need to save the tunes on your PC in the library and check and uncheck them depending whether you wnat to save or delete.
