my bf of of 6 yrs have been engaged for 2 yrs.he has a huge debt (25k)from his first marrage that he is trying to pay off.we have been trying to save up to get married for the last 2 yrs.i don't want to sound like a evil stepmom but we just spent over 300 hundred on his son for x-mas.his son wanted a motorcycle for x-mas along with many other things but did not get it.we told him we would get him one next x-mas.now my bf's exwife has convinced him to go in half on a motorcycle with her which would be about 200 dollars.200 dollars right after x-mas is alot for us.my bf said he will take it from his bonus check he got but i feel he should put that money towards his debt or our wedding.my bf was big in motorcycle racing as a kid and he really wants to get his son into it too.am i wrong to feel this way?

Your boyfriend said that he will take the money from his bonus check to put toward the motorcycle. Let him do that. We will always have debt in our lives. His son will be little for a short time. Maybe come up with a wedding budget spreadsheet and show him in writing, what needs to be saved and for what. This way he will see that you both need to make smarter choices on spending your money on other things.

Debt? Who no a days doesn't live in debt. But come on you are being a little selfish in reference to the whole wedding and debt thing, let the man buy his child what he asked for Christmas only comes once a year. And at least his ex is putting in half also. I'm not saying that you are being wrong but I will say SELFISH yes and probably a little bratty!

NO. Looks like ex-wife runs your bfs finances. What's "we have been trying to save up to get married for the last 2 yrs" mean?? How much have you saved???

Frankly, I question anyone's intelligence who would put a 7-year-old on a motorized toy.

RUN, don't walk away from this arrangement.

no your not wrong why don;t you step in sometime and tell him how you feel and the motorcycle is useless for a kid and 200 dollars is alot of money to pay for a kid gift i think he need to wake up and you need to make that wake up call for him

I would forget this relationship. He isn't that interested in you.
