I use it. Lots of people say it's illegal, however. It really just depends on wether or not you think you're going to get caught. I know, that's an awful thing to say, but I've been using it for a year now and it's never given me any trouble with the cops.

Limewire itself is legal. It's a tool to download stuff.
What you USE it for, however, may be illegal. If you use it to, for example, download copyrighted music, then you are performing an illegal action.

no, limewire isn't legal because you don't pay a cent for all that music, but limewire PRO is legal, i believe.

I don't know why it would be because i use bear share which is also free, and i have used both and i strongly reccommend bear share. I don't think it is legal, but you can download movies on it and THAT is illegal.

as long as you don't use it for downloading ANY copyrited material. of course, there are billions of people already using it, so if they want to try and prosecute all the users, it's going to take a while.
