yes, it's a second chance for india to generate N-energy.
we need it. india does not have too much U-235 reserves, and we do not have tech to use thorium (though we have 50% of the world's thorium reserves)
but apart from that, just look at the future prospects. we become major allies of the US... Pak loses its position as a 'friend of America'!! we get more investors, and the world finally sees us as rivals to China. after all, economic development is what we need right now. just look at S Korea. they tagged along with the US for 50 yrs, gave them tons of support... now they're the world's 11th largest economy (counting GDP US$). if that's the potential for a country that was created by the US, then imagine what we could do, since India is already the 12th largest economy (4th countinng PPP* US$)... 10 more years of US investments could destroy poverty!!!!!
we need that deal, not for the n-fuel, but for the friendship

No it is not. Had it been good for India USA would not have entered into deal with India. It is good for USA. USA is imposing a technology based on raw material available in USA and is phasing out the technology that India was developing using raw material available in plenty in India. By doing it USA is making India dependen t on itself.
