It is busy around here, so i don't go out on boxing day. If you go early, it might not be so bad. Depends on the area!

Honesty it depends on the person, if you are attractive- I hate to say it- but you WILL get more hugs, also if it looks more "official" like if you wear a "free hugs day T-shirt" or something people will be less creeped out because then you are not a random stranger hugging people on the street...well, you are but it looks like you're doing it for a reason, I would like to say I'd hug you, and after a few minutes chatting with you if you explain you're reasoning I probably would, but to randomly go up and hug strangers is a bad Idea, it's happened to me twice in my life and I found it extremely creepy and off-putting...
