Okay, the simple answer is yes... it bothers me regularly that such possessions are in the hands of the imperialists, who thereby profit from tourism of people coming to see those objects. The Rosetta Stone is a good example too. BUT... if the international community starts saying that such things need to be returned, it is difficult for anyone to then argue that the U.S. should not return nearly all U.S. land to native american tribes... then you get into a web of problems no one can solve... does New Mexico belong to the Navajo, or the Mexicans? And if you give it to Native Americans (EVEN if this were likely enough to become an issue), what do you give to whom? These groups didn't have specific territories in many parts of America... so it would still be an issue of favoritism, and people would war over... and should all the whites (Dutch/British) now move out of S. Africa, for example? If you start trying to "give things back" you will find that maybe 1% of the world's population is where it "originally was," if even that much, and even that we can't usually prove... and even if you could prove it and partition it up fairly, then you would have many many more situations like the Middle East and N. Ireland... so... nope, there is no solution other than the power solution... perhaps India will have enough international presence soon and be able to pressure England. Sad, but that's how humanity works so far, and it's been that way a very, very long time.

No
It's War booty Unlike the Elgin Marbles which were taken by Lord Elgin with the permission of the Ottoman Government. But War Booty means that it was taken fairly in war. Also there was a treaty that stated that it was to be surrendered to the Queen of England. Now If you had said; Would it be right for England to return the Kohinoor Diamond to India? I would have said yes. But to just demand it is wrong because the diamond is part of both Iranian and Indian History so who should get. I think it's good where it is.

Not to return it to India!
The koh-i-noor belongs to SIKHS ONLY! there is no doubt about it. It belonged to Maharaja Ranjit Singh and this is the only way forward if it is to be returned it should be returned to Sikhs. But if Sikhs are given the koh-i-noor now it won't be safe as the Indian (Hindu) Government won't allow Sikhs to have it as the Indian Government are experts in killing Sikh minorities and have been doing so for many years. Sikhs have had to fight so much injustice and something that is rightfully ours should be given back to us- another injustice after not having our own country.

Other religions and countries are greedy and wrongly asking for the koh-i-noor and the British clearly know they stole it from Sikhs so should return it back to Sikhs. Simple.

British should keep the koh-i-noor safe for now and give it back to Sikhs once we Sikhs hopefully have our own country in the future.

No. As long as India is subject to potential attack from those filthy Pakistanis, all of her treasures are safer in the hands of thieves that at least respect what they stole. Look at what islamists and arab/persian secularists have to done to some the treasures of the orient as soon as they were able.
