There are only 4 species of true 'big cat' on earth. They are (in order of largest to smallest): Tiger, Lion, Jaguar, and Leopard. There are three species of exotic cat which are large, but not true members of the panthera genus, and therefore not 'big' cats: Cheetahs, Mountain Lions, and Snow Leopards. Next largest is the Clouded Leopard, which is often considered the 'link' between big and small exotic felids. I believe this is the one you are speaking of. After that, there are exotic cats which are about the size of your average domestic or larger. There are over 25 species of these smaller cats. The most well-known are: Ocelots, Asian Leopard Cats, Servals, Caracals, Lynx, Bobcats, Asian and African Wildcats, Andean Mountain Cats, Black-Footed Fishing Cats, and Asian and African Golden Cats. There are many more to be named, but none of these really seem to match your size description. Hope this helps!
