said I didn't know, she asked again and I said I didn't think so b/c I had stuff to do and might spend time w/ my new BF. She asked me to call her for sure early the next day. The next morning my new BF asked me to come over and meet his kids for the first time. So I called my frnd to confirm that I wouldn't be seeing her and apologized. But she wasn't picking up the phone so I had to leave a msg. She called back a few hours later. But when I picked up the phone, as soon as I said Hello, she said, "Fine, have a good time. Gotta go." And she hung up on me! I couldn't believe it.
What's her problem?!

Thanks for all your answers. Much appreciated. I just want to add that I'm not dumping for my BF. No way! She and I spent 4.5 hours together on Christmas Eve, I roasted her a whole turkey, gave her a dozen cookes, some brownies and a bunch a makeup, which she loves. I thought I was being nice.

Sounds like she has serious attachment and jealously issues. I used to know someone very similar years ago at a church I attended. The guy would follow me around, and act offended if I spent more then two minutes talking to someone else. I finally let him know in uncertain term that there were such things as boundaries, and that others there were my friends also. He would then just up and leave right when the service ended. The guy wasn't gay, but he was extremely insecure. It sounds like your "friend" has the same problem. Don't let her try to control your life! You are not responsible to be, what I call, her, "Social Babysitter".

She was obviously a little upset. No, you didnt mean to diss her but she felt a little slighted. The best thing you could do is call and appologize again and set up another time to get with her. No, this wasn't really your fault but sometimes you have to take the blame for the sake of friendship. Hey, remember, this too shall pass. You never know what she's really having trouble with.
Happy Holidays!

She sounds lonely. Now that you got a new boyfriend I guess you have dumped her all together and that is the way she probably is feeling at this moment. One advice, Don't throw away your friends becuase of someone new in your life. You don't know how long the relationship will last. Friends last forever and they will be the ones to be there to pick up the broken pieces.

Maybe she is jealous? Did she have someone to spend christmas with? Sounds like you need to call her or better yet go see her and talk about it...ask her why she was so short with you over the phone and if there is anything wrong...etc...open up the lines of communication.

sounds like she is jeolous and insecure she would like to feel as important to you as your b/f we do that when we are not in a relationship.
Christmas is a hard time for single people. just try to be understanding about it and it will pass try to spend extra time with her. If she is your best friend the B/F should get to know her too. Maybe he has friend that he could introduce her to.

Greetings Greengrasshopper.
You ain't done nothing wrong. You did all you could and didn't promise your friend anyway.
A true friend would understand it's a big thing to be invited to meet your boys' kids.
Don't worry. x
