Mysore has many good places to visit. The places inside the city are 1. Maharaja Palace - and the Royal museum behind the palace 2. Jagan Mohan art gallery which has many original paintings and artefacts 3. Zoo 4 Chamundi hills which has a historical temple. 5 Places near Mysore like (i) Srirangapatna which is about 20 kms from Mysore-Tippus Gumbaz , Summer palace, Sangam (confluence of rivers Kaveri and Kapila) , Nimishamba Devi temple, Ranganatha swamy temple, Dungeon , ruins of Tippu's fort etc. Arranged sight seeing trips are convenient and not expensive - Ask for local sight seeing if you are hiring a taxi or get in touch with the KSTDC -Government Tourism department at the Medical college Premises and at Hotel Mayura near Railway station. Have a good visit.

Important places to visit in mysore: Lalitha mahal palace,Tippu Palace,Chammundi hills,KRS Dam,brindavan Garden,Lalitha Mahal Palace.Coorg is also worth a visit which is about 120kms from mysore.
