If the South was allowed to secede there would be two countries. The South would be a terrorist nation. They would be a closed dictatorship and the North would control all the wealth and have nuclear weapons. The Northwest would be part of Japan and the Southwest would be split between Mexico and China.

I think so.
If you look at the list of despicable Republican representatives and senators the South has inflicted upon the American people, one has to say Lincoln should have let the South drift away.

Absolutely not.
Just look at the infighting that is going on in Iraq. I am sure that Iran, Syria, and even Saudi Arabia are hoping that Iraq falls apart due to Civil War. If that is the case, these foriegn countries can come in and split up what remains of Iraq for themselves.
If Lincoln had not kept the Union together, we would probably be speaking French, Spanish, or having afternoon tea parties right now!!!

No,although he never lived to see through the reconstruction era and the money that was poured into the south to help them rebuild. Even though he was a Republican he acted more like a Democrat of today's society. He had compassion for human beings, unlike the Republicans of today who don't really care about health care,or social reform programs for education, the enviroment,or helping the homeless and the poor.
