We want to know where in Adelaide, Australia we could go to find new people. We've been through the musicsa.com.au and the adelaidebands.com forums, plus we've handed out business cards at gigs, and put up about a hundred signs. Everyone we meet is great at the start, but they won't learn any of the songs and can't be bothered showing up at practice. Does anyone have any suggestions for us? Maybe they've been in a similar experience.

Posting on the local music store bulleten boards and even running a classified in the local papers could be your best bet. Just remember... you'll find 50 slackers who call themselves musicians before you find a good one, that's why you should always do everything you can to keep your band together once you have pieces that work.

Have you tried new paper advertisements?
Lable it serious only, must attend practice and learn the song. Let them know upfront what's expected. Find someone that sings for the joy of singing. If you get someone that's just in it to become famous, then that can end up in problems. Me, I sing because I love to sing.

You may end up going for a female vocalist if you can't find a male one. Females are also a bit more mature where responsibilities are concerned. Just make sure you get one that's compatible with the group.
