Black Panther / Leopard (one & the same):
Genus & Species Panthera Pardus
"This is the most aggressive and feared animals. Though dark in color, this leopard still has its rosettes (spots) of fur."

Jaguar:

Also:
"It is often confused with the leopard but the Jaguar is a stockier animal. It is usually larger with a broad head and shorter legs and tail. The color is generally a tawny yellow with dark spots on the head and neck and dark rings on the body. Inside these rings there is usually a dark spot. This is the primary difference between the spots on a Jaguar and the spots on a leopard. There are also black Jaguars. These are usually found in dense forests and are often called Black Panthers. The body length is between 4 and 6 feet and its tail is about 30 inches/"

Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a black panther. What people call a black panther is really a melanistic leopard or jaguar; a black cat that belongs to the genus Panthera. Hence, the catchall: black panther.
Jaguars usually have coats with similar colorings and markings as a leopard, but there are ways to distinguish between the two. Leopards have singular rosettes or spots, whereas jaguars have spots within spots. And jaguar spots are larger than those of a leopard. Besides the spots being a distinguishing feature, jaguars are larger and more stockier than leopards.
While Jaguars and leopards normally have spots, both can also appear to be completely melanistic (or black), as well. This is where distinguishing between the two can be difficult. Upon closer inspection and with the right lighting or at the right angle the spots/rosettes typical to the cat are usually more noticeable, but from a distance and/or in the dark the two cats may appear very similar. Though there are differences in their size/build.
So what is the difference between a black panther and a black leopard? The term "black panther" may be used to describe either a black leopard or a black jaguar, so the difference may be two different cats. Melanism is more common in jaguars than leopards however, because it is a dominant genetic mutation in jaguars. Whereas it is recessive in leopards. And what color is a jaguar? Pretty similar in color and markings to a leopard--spotted or black.

Black panther and black leopard are different names for the same animal. Both colors can
occur in the same litter of kittens. I have read that
the black panther, in the right light, can be seen to
have the spots, just that the fur is all the same color. I have never been able to see this myself
when I saw them in a zoo, but you may have to
look from close range and with the light at the right
angle. The jaguar is colored like the normal leopard, but with the spots somewhat different in shape and size. One more noticeable difference
is that the jaguar has a larger head than the leopard.

A panther and a leopard are one and the same. The "black" (melanine) leopard actually has rosettes but they are visible only under specific light conditions.
A jaguar is normally tawny, but "black" jaguars can be found.
While leopards live in Asia and Africa, Jaguars live in the New World.

The panther is black and is the same as a black leopard. Panthers do have spots the same as the standard leopard. A jaguar is the same color as the leopard, same type & color spots only larger with a smaller spot in the center.
Here's a picture of a jaguar at the San Antonio zoo...

Nevermind the fact that the leopard/panther either black or normally colored are the same....color is only superficial.
Also nevermind the fact that jaguars and leopards are not the same! Jaguars live in North America and Leopards live in Africa.

In terms of cars? Panther was a small car company that made odd cars mostly based off of other car designs (you'll probably never see a Panther on the road) Jaguar is a british luxury car company that has many cars in the US as well. Mercury made an ugly little car in the 80s known as the lynx, )that's the only Lynx i've ever heard of) As for Cheetah, there was a muscle car made by Chevy that had that name, it was made in the 60s. The only thing I could find on a Leopard is a small poilsh car company called Leopard Automobile Mielec. Cougar is a line of cars made by Mercury (a sub section of Ford) they made cars from 1967-2002.
