It can take a max of 20 minutes from CST.

Cab/Taxi/Bus:
I suggest that u walk down from CST. It's a winding route if u take the vehicle. Secondly there's a work in progress and the road leading to Gateway is under repairs so u have to get down near museum and walk.

Secondly, while walking u can experience the hustle and bustle , crowds of Mumbai and the vitality / energy can be enjoyed.

It depends on what time of day. I think its a bit far to walk. I only made the trip by taxi, it takes about 20 minutes in reasonable traffic from CSTin victoria to Colaba where the gateway is...
