I rented a magnum afor a wee.It ran like a scalded dog.I didnt like the way it handled however.
for a car with three thousand miles on it I noticed it ran rough at times.Concerned me about the life and future problems the model might have. Wont buy one myself personally.
I will rent other cars before I decide on a new one.

The ones I see have very few problems. The 05 and some of the 06's had a small leak on the transmission (very easy repair). The 07's have the new seals. Just keep in mind that the 6.1 takes 0w-40 synthetic oil. Which means it's a $100 oil change. Other than that, it is a well built car.

I drove a US market '06 Chrysler C300 SRT8 (which has the 425hp 6.1 Liter V-8), among others, on a drag strip and road course last June. It was an excellent handling and very fast car. Although we did not measure it, I would be confident in saying that the mileage was terrible. In countries where fuel is cheap, no problem. In countries with expensive fuel and or taxes on horsepower and/or engine displacement, shop elsewhere.

I will consider one myself in the future.

Chrysler is still the worst domestic brand in the US. The 300 looks cool, but they have a lot of problems....basically you are gonna just be able to go fast in a straight line with that thing. Everything else about the car sucks; handling, braking, mpg, comfort, transmission, electrical, etc. and it will look very dated in a few years because you know they not gonna keep that style for very long....
