The green to which you refer, is a curse of the UK climate - which for the most part is damp. The green is caused by spores flowing north-south during the winter months. This is when the green is most noticeable.

I am not sure if you can get a sealant but you can buy a liquid product which will remove the green with stiff brushing and keep it off for at least a couple of years.

You can also used plain bleach and hot water with a heavy yard broom. Hard work but it get rid of it from patios and driveways.

Actually some people try and try to get moss to grow. Had you ever thought of making the area a featured rock garden? You could plant hostas, wild violets and other low light plants and put in some rocks and a bench and the moss would be a lovely feature.

north has nothing to do with growing moss, that is an old wives's tale. Moss grows when there is moisture and dirt and lack of sun. Take care of any one of those and no more moss!

I have the same in my car port which faces North and South (it's open ended) and I nearly slipped over last week on the green slime. I will try salt or my pressure washer but am open to suggestions and will be keeping my eye on the answers to this one.

the area is probably moist which makes it conducive for moss to grow. your best bet would be to trim trees which will allow the sun to reach it. the other alternative is to give it a thorough scrub at least once a week. good luck

i have same problem, best way is either pressure washer or soak it with water pour plenty of thick bleach on it then scrub with a stiff yard brush leave it 20 mins then swill off with clean water.

i don't think there is a sealer available that actually works.
