I googled "Shivaji Maharaj" and found several sites, not all of which are written in understandable English. hmmm.
"Shivaji Bhonsle... started the Maratha empire in western India in 1674. Using guerrilla tactics superbly suited to the rugged mountains and valleys of the region, he annexed a portion of the then dominant Mughal empire. He is considered a great hero in India particularly in the present-day state of Maharashtra, and stories of his exploits have entered into folklore."
I'm not sure about his throne, but it might be in Pune:
"Shivaji ... assumed administrative responsibility... as an independent young prince of a small kingdomin 1644. Shahaji got Lal Mahal built at Pune."
Or maybe at Raigad Fort, where he was crowned King:
"Shivaji was formally crowned ...King of Kshatriyas" ... on June 6, 1674 at the Raigad fort." [1]
From a different site:
"This great pundit, Gagabhatta, crowned Shivaji King by name, in accordance with the rites of the Shastras. This great event took place in 1674. Shivaji was then 44 years of age. The towering fort of Raigadh became the capital. After touching his mother's feet and obtaining her blessings, Shivaji sat on a golden throne on the fort." [2]
