oven cleaner sounds interesting, i would spray it down with white vineagar, sprinkle on baking soda, let fizz up, do it again, then scrub down with one of those green scrubbing pads..do this weekly, and should not have this problem. hot water rinse after each shower, cleaning the drain to avoid the runoff backing up..good luck..

I fill the bathtub up with hot water and add some bleach, maybe about a cup. Then let it soak for a bit. After it's soaked, empty the tub and rinse it down. While the tub is still wet, squirt some shampoo on a scrubby and use it to get whatever else didn't come off. If you use the scrubby and shampoo after every bath you won't have any more bath scum

All you people who said oven cleaner, don't even go there with
that answer, it's for ovens period. There are many good products
for bathroom cleaning and should be used accordingly. If you have a fiberglass tub follow the manufacturers cleaning advice as
most products will ruin the finish and make it look worse. What
type of finish is your tub by the way?

Spray on Dow Scrubbing Bubbles, let sit, spray again and scrub with mesh covered sponge (Dobie is the brand name) Takes a bit of elbow grease. Mr Clean Magic eraser. Those green 3M scrubbers will take the finish off of your tub, be gentle.

When you're finished their my shower could use some work....I'll supply the beer and/or champagne!

Mr Clean Magic Erasers work awesome on bathtub scum. I actually just used it on Saturday. It works for just about everything else as well. You can pick them up at any Wal-Mart, ShopKo, K-Mart, etc.

I use dish soap and one of those green scrubby sponges-works for me. Even after 5 kids and a hubby bathed.
It is harder, if you let it build up and dry on, though. Keep scrubbing and rinsing.
