Hi..you don't have to have mates to see the world. Meet people while your there.Besides,if you take someone with you, they might slow you down or cause you to miss something.Be safe but not sorry.

Go alone to a place where you already know a couple of people. Even if it has been a long time since you spoke, you'll be surprised to find how happy they are to show you around and hook you up with others.
Meet travel companions on the road. At least you'll have met them in person before you lock yourself in with a complete stranger.

You could try to find people in your area to go with on vacation, or meet people while traveling. There are many travel companies that cater to people under 35 that have tours throughout the world, like Contiki. You could meet a whole new group of people while discovering a new country together.

In 1992 I hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. I started out by myself & ended up meeting peaple from all over the world.I had some experience hiking but i met tons of people who had little or no experience.Contact the Appalachian Trail conferance & go to a good out door store & they will fill you in on all that you will need. This hike was the greatest memory I have in life & I still talk to people I met.....Try it...you won't regret it.
