1. go to www.apple.com/ipod/start and download iTunes to your computer. note, a broadband internet is recommanded.
2. double-click iTunesSetup.exe (in windows) or iTunes.mpkg (in Mac OS X) and follow the onscreen instructions.
STEP 2: connect iPod and follow the setup assistant
the setup assistant helps you update iPod software and configure you preferences.
STEP 3: Put Music and Videos on Your computer
to get music and videos from the iTunes Store you need to open iTunes and click iTunes Store and the Source Plan, then click the sign In button in the upper-right corner and follow the onscreen instructions to set up an account, or enter your Apple account or AOL account information (you can use your AOL account information onlye in some countries)
TO IMPORT MUSIC FROM YOUR CDS INTO YOUR ITUNES:
1. Put a CD in your computer. itunes opens and asks if you want to import the CD.
2. Deselect any songs you DONT want, and then click Import.
STEP 4: Synce your iPod and Charge the battery:
Connect iPod to a USB port on your computer using the included cable. USB 2.0 is recommended.
note: the port in your key board DOESNT provide enough power; DONT use it to connect iPod.
TO LOAD MUSIC AND VIDEOS ONTO iPOD:
When you connect iPod to your computer, iTuned opens. Folow the onscreen instructions to load songs and videos from iTunes onto iPod. You can load songs and videos onto iPod while yout battery is charging.
TO CHARGE BATTERY:
When iPod is connected to your computer, the battery charges.
For best results, the first time you use your iPod, let it charge for about 4 hours or untill the batter icon shows that the battery is fully charged. it will have a little lighting thing when it is charging and a little plug looking thing when done.

that should be it... i hope this help... you friend --Hailey

Have you put the iTunes CD that came with your ipod into your computer yet? It should walk you through most of the process. Once iTunes is on your computer, every time you put a CD in the computer you'll have a prompt with the option of moving the music into your iTunes folder. You can also use iTunes to buy (download) music and videos off the online store.

Help us help you by giving us more information about what you've done so far to set your ipod up, what kind you have, and where you've run into trouble. Good luck.
