unemployment allowances are not bad at all but govt should genuinely motivate and help people to go back to work. some govts can't afford to provide allowances to people but in most developed countries in the west, they do. it is good but the govt should also help people to find jobs that they like to do. if they can spend that much money on unemployed, they can do better.

Ask yourself these questions,

If you were falling behind at work, would you be MORE or LESS concerned about being fired, if you knew that you will be able to collect unemployment benefits?

If you were unemployed, would you be MORE of LESS motivated to go get another job quickly if you knew you were getting a check every month for 26 more weeks?

The problem with unemployment in the US is that the government should make people work for that money.
- no work, no check....Now lets see how many people
try to collect.

People are fundamentally lazy...its human nature to try to get more instead of less, and to conserve energy, it is instinct.

Tell people if you lose your job and we will give you some money,
and they will be more open to losing thier job.

Hope this helps

Where there is a government program there will be people that will abuse it. Look at the US. We have many wonderful programs, but there are many people that don't belong on them that are too lazy to take care of themselves. Why don't they do some thing about it? Who knows.

Many people work out of self respect and because they want to provide for themselves and their family. Some work to eat, and some do not want to work. If you provide a free living what is their incentive to work?
