So do you think murder should be illegal for everyone except the state? What makes the government so special? Warehouse them for life without patrol and get some work out of these creeps. Give them hard labour for life doing things like fixing roads like on 'Cool Hand Luke".

Death penalty can be brought back provided we can have God to be the judge for every case, no matter big or small. As long as its a human there, there'll be chances for mistakes. May we should look back why death penalty was abolished in the past and there's 1001 reasons to back it up. Terrorism and murders may have come much to an irritating level that makes some live in fears. However, dealing with these, anger is never a solution. For every problem, there will be a solution. For problems without solution, its is no longer a problem. Its a situation where you choose to adapt or abandon. I believe these are still in their problem stage. Solution is there, but it takes time and requires other things to fall in place.

Here we go again .Someone allways has to mention Iraqis what does it take to get through to some peoples brains that Iraqis were not terrorists untill TB and GB started killing them by the thousands they wasn`t threatening anyone
Even with DNA you can`t be sure of getting the right person .Most murders are domestic and so the victim could have DNA on them from anyone in the house or anyone else they are in close contact with
A good example would be the mothers who were jailed for killing their babies (some for years ) and then it came out the expert witness had been misleading the courts for years and there had been loads of convictions on his evidence alone
I can`t imagine what they went through .Loosing a baby is a terrible thing but then to have to be accused and convicted for murdering your child is unimaginable . If the UK had the death sentance they would be hung (equal rights works both ways ).So no apeal and the doctor giving the wrong information would still be at it getting more innocent women convicted .This is something that could happen to anyone so any of us or our relatives could end up being hung .It`s barbaric and just not worth it

If people are deranged because of sexual/psychological difficulties or religious manipulation, the death penalty will not act as a deterrent. Christians (if there are any) and Muslims believe that only God has the power of life and death. There are also cases of false conviction. What good does it do someone who has been convicted and executed to be 'pardoned' several years later?
The death penalty for cold bloodied murder for personal gain (armed robbery) might act as a deterrant, but if an execution were to be carried out it would have to be a cast-iron case. Personally I believe that anyone taking another life is temporarily insane.

Now...yes. Because if the evidence is clean/pure DNA samples etc. In the past all one could go on is circumstancial evidence or fingerprints and sometimes that was very iffy. These days one doesnt own a crime unless more damning evidence is available.

OK a person can do a crime....planned or not. If that crime leads to many others being affected, they took a life...indirectly or directly.....why should they be allowed to live? People on benefits are not looked upon all that kindly...given the govt demand they work...even if they have children or disability. People in jails are looked on kindly only if its BS related...ie misdemeanors, payback or oopsies.

People who kill for thrills, who can never be rehabilitated, and who everyone knows WILL do it again...why pay taxpayers money, to them, to keep food/water/shelter to keep them going? I know its sort of payback that they may get sodomised but in all reality.....its only the fragile set that gets buggered. The real crims are far too scary for the shrimp to f**k with...so they leave them alone.

Yes......the death penalty should be brought back. Some people are a waste of space on the earth...moreso than others. Unfortunately not all murderers pick their victims that well. Heh I dont mind that the strangler in UK picked on prostitutes...might send a message to wannabes or those in the industry. I also dont mind when abusive partners get duffed either....the law should have done a better job to protect.

I DO mind when innocents get killed though...and we shouldnt have to keep THEM, in any mode, in society...for any length of time because whats the point? They are too damaged to be of any worth anymore...for any reason. Their death should be celebrated...that they may rest their worried and warped minds, others will be saved and nobody has to feed the animals. They may even get reincarnated and be given a different start sooner...who knows?

Iraquians are the Babylonions doing exactly what they did since 2000 years ago...except they now have the internet for ease of the same terrorism. Why they didnt get a clue to be peaceful to ALL is anyones guess because God/Allah is all about love.

Their testosterone is too high and their mommas didnt smack them enough to respect women but no...their fathers didnt play with them, respect them as children or talk about REAL love...duty isnt real love and thats all they know. Life isnt about dying for a cause...its about living for who is in your life...and loving those that you want to take a fall for. Who would take a fall for someone that is scary or shouldnt count because they dont value people above anything else? A person who is a sheep and follows leaders when they are not one themselves.

If a human doesnt value humanity (humans that dont behave like animals)....they are no longer human themselves and should be treated as such.....sent to the glue factory but via lethal injection (no pain is necessary, why stoop to their level?).

I don't think we as humans know enough about what makes a person "evil". Chemical or brain factors? Environment? Upbringing? We just don't have the answers and it seems to be a pretty barbaric way of dealing with a problem that we have not enough information on.
One day we may find that there is a brain disorder that makes some people do what they do. Wouldn't it be horrible to look back and find out that we made a drastic mistake?

It's amazing how the more openly Christian a state is, the less likely they are to turn the other cheek.

Personally I think punishment of all sorts is pointless. Compensation and restriction of freedoms I'm all for (paedophiles not being alowed near kids, for example, makes a whole load of sense), but chucking people in prison or killing them I've never been able to get behind, unless they're doing something useful.

I always liked the idea of some citie in the USA where nobvody recycles because all the rubbish gets sent to the prison for the prisoners to sort it. Now that's a good idea.

What is wrong with you Hang em and Flog em types, Capitol punishment does not work, what about if one of your kids or relatives had been "fitted up" would you be so keen to see the return of the ultimate barbarianism. I doubt if you remember the I.R.A. terrorist Bobby Sands, he starved himself to death in prison over a mater of principle, no short sharp drop he killed himself slowly over weeks, and a suicide bomber now how is the death penalty a deterrent to people like that? Try thinking for yourself stop reacting, really thinking is so important and it is easy once you get the hang of it.

Absolutely-as long as it is by the tried and trusted British hanging.
None of this codswallop injection shenanigans, or limp-wristed electrocutions.
Hang the Sods!
And bring back Hanging, Drawing and Quartering for Treasonous Seditionists like Tony Blair, Brown Gorden, Livingstone and their Fawkes-like ilk.
