it is a good speed, it is a little better than the system i'm using now which is running an amd sempron 3400 2Ghz, and my system runs pretty good, i have a tv tuner card in here designed for a 2.2GHz system and my system runs it ok although it does stutter every few seconds. mind you i do have 3GB RAM in this system as well. wo when windows XP tells me in a dialogue the transfer (when moving files and folders locally) will take ten minutes it normally takes only around ten seconds or less on average, but then that could be down tothe fact i use SATA2 Hard drives made by seagate, and i'm running with a 650W PSU

system slow and sluggish with a 480W PSU, Greased Lightening ith a 650WPSU meaning that with all the upgrades i made to my system it outgrew it's 480W PSU.

As you can tell your CPU is not even half the story when it comes to system speed. CPU, RAM speed the faster the better for example pc2700 SD-ram is faster than pc-2100, Your hard drives data transfer rate and cache all play a role in deteermining how fast your computer operates.
pc2700 (333mhz as in my system) is comparitively slow in today computing terms and my system is less than 18 months old.

i hope this helps a little.

Yes, I've got a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 (not an Athlon, but they're really good)for the past 3 years and it runs just fine. My son in laws friend use to play his on line games on it and was happy, so I guess that's a good thing. I had no problems with it running everything from Adobe Photo Shop (a huge program), Microsoft Office, games, the Internet, you name it, flawless.
