i have checked all the fuses and they seem fine any ideas??

ah... french are better lover than car maker...
I already had this problem. It is a known default on 306, fan are very cheap... you have to change it...

The Thermostat that switches the fan off and on must be replaced .
Take it to a Peugeot Mechanic.

if it doesnot work on any speed and there is no fuse blown
that would normaly mean the motor (resister) is shot!!!
its under the dash on the passenger side
it will be a brown plug
try hitting the motor and see if it moves at all
its only held in by 3 screws and very easy to remove

you might have to change the fan switch I had to do this on my car and I did it myself - you dont have to take it to a garage - it will cost you about £20 for the switch although it does not look like much you notice the difference - you may need to top up you antifreeze when you have done it depending on where yours is located - I have a vauxhall but would inmagine they are pretty much all in the same location.

Exactly what caryn said. Take it out and bang it once on the ground and refit. this sometimes gets them going again.

if you have air con, try changeing the cabin filter ?
