The answers given on Yahoo answers typically only take a few minutes to compose. Books are frequently written over a period of years and provide much more information.
Another way to look at your question is, if you're travelling in a very large, strange city would it be better to have a map of the city, or ask for directions every time you need them?
Undoubtedly, consulting people is a lot more fun and interesting, but the map would be a lot more reliable, and you would quickly learn many things from themap that the people you are consulting with don't know. If you can't find something on the map, you can always consult the locals. In the same manner, you can always ask a question on Yahoo answers.

Hi Dear, According to me both have different value. Books have different subject and are based on the known facts. They give you detailed knowledge of the subject they are about. You can choose the topic which you want to know and can read it. It gives you all the in and out of the subject. It list all the advantages and disadvantages of the topic you go through in detail and depth, where as yahoo answer are based on persons ability and knowledge. Some might be good and some way beyond topic. Some might be on his person feeling and according to his thinking which might never be true. You can't rely on them. You learn a lot from them as well. They help you when you are looking for a answer and you are not able to find it. you can post it and can look for it. Some of the answer will surely help you out in this regards.

Yes, I've learned a great deal, and I expect to go on learning from this site. I have changed many of my opinions as a result of this forum, including both religious and political. For one thing, I was calling myself a witch for almost 25 years before I started here. But being here and seeing how much more seriously other witches take it, and knowing I was using the gods and goddesses as myth and metaphor instead of really believing they exist, I declared myself an atheist. I've also changed my politics from Libertarian to Independent. I think this forum does help a person recognize that change is possible, that it is OK to re-evaluate your beliefs whenever they start to contradict one another; that it's not the same as being wishy-washy. In my case, I joined the Ethical Society of St. Louis declaring that I was their "token Libertarian." But being open to the influence of their compassion and intelligent discourse, I gradually realized that Libertarianism is an ideal for after we solve a great many other problems. The reason Ron Paul did not get enough votes was not that his ideas are not good, but that they are decidedly premature. Maybe in a hundred years or so we will have matured to that extent. I've also made some great friends, and learned a great deal of self-respect over the positive feedback I get from a "best answer" and from positive comments that often go along with them.

Read books as much as possible, Yahoo Answers is great - but not all of the answers are correct, which may lead to problems if that is your only source on a subject. By having as much information as possible you can make the best use of Yahoo Answers.

To me, the value of Yahoo.Answers is that people can inspire you to look further for your answers. The most valuable answers on this site are those that list below on "Know your source" ---because one source can lead you to another and another, until you expand your research enough to find the most accurate answer. Just be sure to recognize "opinion" when it is not "fact" on this site. There are some really good people, though, who respond on this site and can help you. Remember, too, that there are excellent resources that are not only books! Use the Yahoo. answers to lead you to these additional sources.

I would say it all depends on what you are trying to learn or study. Sometimes books provide more detail than Yahoo Answers or the internet, but othertimes if you need a quick simple answer I would say turn to yahoo answers.

Consider what the people say but then read the book because some people don't read the book either. They just tell you to get points.

Read books by all means. You can always backup the answers you get from "Yahoo" by reading and by not reading you'd be cheating yourself out of a lot of good stuff!
