My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for two years. I can't seem to get pregnant. I can't get a doctor to take me seriously because I am only 23. I've read that people change their diets and take certain vitamins. Does that really work?? What else can I do?

➔ Trying to Conceive
I have seen several doctors, and I am limited to how many doctors I can see, due to my health insurance. They insist I "just keep trying for awhile". LOL I hadn't thought of that.

I am sorry to hear of your trouble.
If your doctor is not taking you seriously, find a different one. I know how it is when you are young--many doctors blow you off thinking you are just an hysterical female.
2 years is plenty of time to wait after consistent trying. After this, you should contact a fertility specialist. My sister did this, and it turned out that it was just a hormonal problem that a few months of birth control pills fixed. After the additional hormones were added, she could conceive after stopping the pills.
It could be something really simple, but you need to find someone that takes the time to find out the reason.
Call your hospitals for a physician referral line. Ask for doctors that take regular obstetric patients but also specialize in fertility. Make sure the doctors referred take insurance and set up an appointment.

What you should do is wait til the first of the year and then that way your health coverage will start over again and check into seeing a fertility specialist. Go in and make sure that you are ovulating properly and then your husband will have his sperm checked. If all of this comes back normal then, you know that you just need to slow down and take your time. I had tried very hard to get pregnant with my first son and I was 24. I used the basal thermometer and actually had sex every day which was wrong to do. I actually got to the point where I would do head stands for a few minutes after having sex. lol! I stopped trying and only had sex 3 times a week or less and got pregnant two months later. Sometimes when you try so hard that it alters it because of your nerves and all the stress believe it or not. See if you can get tested because rule of thumb for seeing a specialist is that after 2 years you get checked out. Remember that you ovulate 14 days before and 14 days after your period. You can also tell that your ovulating most of the time by the amount and change of the vaginal discharge that we get. When you ovulate it will increase and become thicker that is to help aid in letting the egg pass easier so when you start to notice that it usually means that your ovulating. I wish you and your husband all the best . Good luck to you two.

Both of u need to check where the problem lies... from there, then you can medicate. Right now, without knowing where the fault lies, you can't just take any medication to start with. Go see a more reliable doctor

MY DOC. SAYS TO TAKE MULTI VITAMINS WITH FOLIC ACID ALSO IF ITS BEEN TWO YEARS, YOU ARE MARRIED, YOUR DOCTOR SHOULD DO SOMETHING. I BELIEVE THEY AREN'T DOING ANYTHING NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR AGE BUT BECAUSE OF YOUR INSURANCE.
LITTLE TIP THOUGH, IF YOU PERIODS ARE REGULAR OR KINDA REGULAR COUNT THE NUMBER OF DAYS FROM THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR LAST PERIOD TO THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEXT DIVIDE BY 2 THIS NUMBER YOU COME UP WITH IS THE NUMBER OF DAYS PAST THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR LAST PERIOD THAT YOU SHOULD BE OVULATING. IT MAY LAST 5 DAYS OR 10 DAYS YOU HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE GOOEY DISCHARGE THAT LOOKS AND/OR FEELS LIKE EGG WHITE, MY DOC SAYS SPERM LOVE THIS.
ONE MORE THING I READ THAT WHEN A WOMAN HAS REACHES HER "PEAK" DURING SEX, IT INCREASES HER CHANCES OF GETTING PREGO AS THIS ALLOWS THE LITTLE PEOPLE TO SURVIVE LONGER INSIDE THE PALACE.
I HOPE YOU CAUGHT WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY.
GOOD LUCK

If your doctor won't take you seriously, then you need to switch doctors.
