Absolutely not!
President Bush took us into Iraq on false pretense. The Project of the New American Century outlines why our military might should take over failed regimes in 1997. Iraq was crippled by 11 years of sanctions; a perfect time to take over a weak nation. If the American Public new about the Bush's Administrations capitolistic plans and that it would sacrifice the lives of our children to accomplish this, the answer would have been NO-and this would have saved our kids and 300 billion dollars. These great American resources would have gone to a greater good if never lost.
A true democracy is based on truth. The people have the power and not the government. We are not lead by a dictatorship.

Lies are never good, some times the government considers it necessary rather than saying no comment or something else. One big lie that effected many of us, was about agent orange or the white rain as we called it being safe!

It depends on what they lied about;

For example if they planned the 9/11 and lied about it (Which they most likely Did Not) which started a whole new kind of racism against Muslims - Then No. It wouldn't be for our own good.

But if they lied about something that would start a war against the goverment, or the people, or other countries; Then yes, it would be for our own good.

Even though the People voted for most of the people currently in Goverment, we as the People deserve the truth and nothing but it.

If you believe in allowing the people in the government to do whatever whenever to whomever, i guess ti would be for your own good.
for the rest of us, who believe the government is suppose to serve its people, not the people serving the government, it isn't for our own good!

All presidents, even Democrats, have to lie to liberals in Congress.
Liberal Congressmen betray the country every chance they get.
Clinton did not trust his own liberal Democrats, and for good reason.
