The Associated Press(AP) picked Tiger Woods as top athlete of '06 with LaDainian Tomlinson 2nd and Roger Federer a distant third.
Big fat smokers play golf and compete in tournaments, you can't compare them to real athletes, you can compare them to Poker players, snooker players maybe. This is a joke.

Oh Law138, you mean like John Daly(sp) or Stadler, those in shape guys. It amazes me they can see the ball for their guts, so I'll give to them for playing with such a phisycal handicap.

I have to agree with you on this one. Tiger Woods, although an excellent SPORTSPERSON, is not at all an ATHELETE. ATHLETES have physical endurance and strength, and are hard-working(physically)
Roger Federer is by far THE BEST ATHLETE on this planet, not only in this year:)

I disagree, Tiger is the best at what he does by far, in a sport that is very difficult for everyone. I agree that L.T. and Federer have had great years also, but L.T. is playing a team sport, and he will be the first to tell you his success is because of the team not just him. Federer, did not have as good a year as Tiger.

How true, It must be a money thing, he probably purchased the award. What a Joke, I would like to see him skate around with the NHL or play football or something with the real athletes.

I suggest you go out and play (walk) 18 holes of golf, four days straight, without a cart......you'll be sore after the first day and crying after the tournament. Then again, golf is very difficult and involves hand-eye coordination, and physical skill (to do it well)....so you probably wouldn't make the cut.
