What you could do, is get someone that knows something about radios, have them pull the radio out for you, get the serial number from the radio, and drive into an Audi service dealership. If you provide proof of ownership of the radio, they SHOULD give you the code for free.
If you can't get the radio out, then the dealer will have to pull the radio and get the code for you. That will cost something.

Other helpful tips if you can't get the radio out.....sometimes the code is located on or in the car. 4 digits. Can be found, under ashtray, sometimes on the inside of the trunk, etc. Hope this helps!

I assume you mean the 'check engine' light came on, and was cleared when the battery was removed. If this is the case, then you will have to wait until the light comes back on (if it does). Usually, PepBoys will check codes for free, otherwise most mechanics and dealers will charge a fee for this service (around $50-$75). Hope this helps..
