Usually when I go into the Dr. I hear the sound of myself first which would sound like Choo-choo-choo (say it in a very quiet whisper and you'll know what I mean)lol! then, I hear the bump bump bump really fast and strong. I had my first one and it was 161 beats and they usually say that is a girl but, I went in for an ultrasound and the heart rate was at 132 so that is contradicting huh? Turns out that I am having a girl. So, I guess the above 160 beats thing is just an old wives tale because I had above and below. The sound of the baby's heart beating is still the best sound in the world besides the sweet cry after you give birth.Congratulations

It sounds like your heartbeat but only faster. It was kinda hard to hear my babys heartbeat through the doppler. So i tried a stethascope. Much better!

Our daughters sounded like a washing machine. But it was so precious to hear that little washing machine though.
