Do you really think so? You need to open your mind (a bit will lighten you too).

British made a deal with India National Congress (INC) to help them during WW-II and in return they promised to leave India. At that time INC was lead by Gandhi.

Mahatama Gandhi (or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) was one of the greatest leader of modern India and he fought against British rule using non-violence.

I reckon you are talking about Mahatma Gandhi. You may be talking about Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi, who were not related to Mahatma but were Prime Minsters of India at one point, and were mother and daughter.

Those who were saying that he did nothing should be ashamed of themselves. Gandhi was the inspiration for many of the worlds most prominent human rights leaders, such as Dr Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.

Mahatma Gandhi was great because he rebelled against unjust British rule in India without physically hurting one person. He prided himself on "satiagraha", which is protest through non-violence. He stood up for the people of India and changed the world through his actions (for the better).

For more information go to Wikipedia, and type his name in. It really is worth a read. (By the way, I am not Indian)

Indira Gandhi was prime minister of India. Mahatma Gandhi lived and taught others about nonviolent resistance through prayer and fasting. I believe he was an inspiration to Martin Luther King and others in how to win a war (i.e., civil rights) through non-aggressive means.
