Everyone, you ask? Just take a minute and ask yourself , what do YOU want in this world ( or life) ? You will find it very difficult to clearly say what you would want!
This is precisely the point. Everybody.... almost everybody... will find it difficult to say what they want. Some may confuse "world" and "life" . All of us know that just wishing fame and money and recognition etc. are simply wishful thinking and they will not happen in their lives. Wishing is different from wanting.
After all lot of coaxing and prompting we may get an answer from all that all they want in life is , pure and simple happiness.

Everyone wants a story. Just a simple story, whether believable or not, just a story to make life seem like it has a purpose and to explain things that do not make sense. Religion, law, morales, all these things have been made up by humans to serve to explain the unexplainable to give order to things that seem to have no order. Power, money, fame, all exist as the story justifying how you live and the choices that you make. Love, loyalty, family, science, spirituality, consciousness, aggression and cruelty and all definitions made up by people to rationalize things that cannot be rationalized.
Isnt my little story quite nice?

Everyone says they want "world peace" but few mean it. Everyone wants money, material objects, above all Power.
Those of us the dreamers want world peace.
It's what we should all want, but this world and society is a disgrace.

I could never answer what "everyone" wants, because every one wants something different. I would not be able to find 2 people who want the exact same things. If I had to pick one thing that everyone wants, it is clean air to breath.

Nobody really knows what they really want. We think we want it... when we get it we don't want it anymore (usually).

Most people are simple minded wishing only to provide a decent and peaceful life for their family, always available to help other less fortunate members of the community, irrespective of race, sex or creed.
Only a minority want the opposite, they are criminals, terrorists.

If only they could realize that what they are really searching for is contentment, peace and fulfillment.
