Islam (Arabic: الإسلام; al-'islām (help·info)) is a monotheistic religion based upon the teachings of Muhammad, a 7th century Arab religious and political figure. It is the second-largest religion in the world today, with an estimated 1.4 billion adherents, known as Muslims.Linguistically, Islam means to submit, and refers to the submission or total surrender of one's self to God (Arabic: ألله, Allāh). Thus, a Muslim is "one who submits to God".
Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad and that Muhammad is God's final prophet. The Qur'an and the traditions of Muhammad in the Sunnah are regarded as the fundamental sources of Islam. Muslims do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham and other prophets whose messages had become misinterpreted or corrupted over time.Like Judaism and Christianity, Islam is an Abrahamic religion.
Today, Muslims may be found throughout the world, particularly in the Middle East, North Africa, and South and Central Asia. Only about 20 percent of Muslims originate from Arab countries.Islam is the second largest religion in many European countries, such as France, which has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe, and the United Kingdom..

Islam is a religion which originated 1400 years ago in Arabia. It was brought to the Arabs in Makkah by the Prophet (P.B.U.H) a.k.a Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). It preaches love, humility, peace and brotherhood amongst people. It enjoins good manners and character for all people. It's belief revolves around worship of Allah, which means 'THE God' in English, and states that NO ONE, ever, can be equal to Allah, so we must follow Him and obey his commands. He is the sole creator and sustainer of the universe, and has created Jannah (Heaven) and Narun (Hell) for the judgement of people at the end of this universe. It's beliefs are stated in the Holy Qura'an, which is the main source of knowledge of Islam. This religion testifies the coming of Jesus Christ and even the religion of Jews, but considers the Prophet (P.B.U.H) the last prophet. You may find THOUSANDS of people criticizing Islam, but the true message of Islam is not in the media or the public, but in Qura'an and the Sunnah (Life) of the Prophet (P.B.U.H).

Major world religion founded by Muhammad in Arabia in the early 7th century AD. The Arabic word islam means “submission”-specifically, submission to the will of the one God, called Allah in Arabic. Islam is a strictly monotheistic religion, and its adherents, called Muslims, regard the Prophet Muhammad as the last and most perfect of God's messengers, who include Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and others. The sacred scripture of Islam is the Qur'an, which contains God's revelations to Muhammad. The sayings and deeds of the Prophet recounted in the sunna are also an important source of belief and practice in Islam. The religious obligations of all Muslims are summed up in the Five Pillars of Islam, which include belief in God and his Prophet and obligations of prayer, charity, pilgrimage, and fasting. The fundamental concept in Islam is the Shari'ah, or Law, which embraces the total way of life commanded by God. Observant Muslims pray five times a day and join in community worship on Fridays at the mosque, where worship is led by an imam. Every believer is required to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city, at least once in a lifetime, barring poverty or physical incapacity. The month of Ramadan is set aside for fasting. Alcohol and pork are always forbidden, as are gambling, usury, fraud, slander, and the making of images. In addition to celebrating the breaking of the fast of Ramadan, Muslims celebrate Muhammad's birthday (see mawlid) and his ascension into heaven (see mi'raj). The 'Id al-Adha festival inaugurates the season of pilgrimage to Mecca. Muslims are enjoined to defend Islam against unbelievers through jihad. Divisions occurred early in Islam, brought about by disputes over the succession to the caliphate (see caliph). About 90% of Muslims belong to the Sunnite branch. The Shi'ites broke away in the 7th century and later gave rise to other sects, including the Isma'ilis. Another significant element in Islam is the mysticism known as Sufism. Since the 19th century the concept of the Islamic community has inspired Muslim peoples to cast off Western colonial rule, and in the late 20th century fundamentalist movements (see Islamic fundamentalism) threatened or toppled a number of secular Middle Eastern governments. In the early 21st century, there were more than 1.2 billion Muslims in the world.

There's no point in quoting Martin Luther King. Go do some researching on the religion first, and then make a comment, and quote what God and The Prophet PBUH said in the Quran.

It is understandable that people are upset with Muslims. There is much confusion, but Hate won't help anyone but the terrorist. They want to divide and conquer.
