Fans want to see the best players, plus in almost every kate season game playoff seedings are still being determined, like who gets the byes and who gets home feild advantage etc. i imagine next week you will indeed see some players who have injuries they could play with sit out it not straight up sitting starts, especially a guy like LT who is that team, and they dont really need a win. Altho some players dont like to because they get in a groove and sitting a week throws them off, or they just love to compete so much they cant stand to watch from the side lines

Actually, teams do this all the time, at least in the NFL. It's just that so often (this year for example) there's so much that depends on winning, as far as maybe being able to slide up one more spot and get a home game for the playoffs.
Also, coaches are always concerned about maintaining a rhythm and momentum with their starters, so they always feel compelled to play them at least a little while.

Yeah its happen before. I remember a few of years ago when the Bucs played the Eagles on sunday night. It looked like a great game on paper but since both teams had their playoff positions set, it played like a preseason game for the most part. Poor fans who payed to see that.

Umm... Newsflash some of them do that if they have locked up homefield advantage. ALthough if there is a chance they can be the second seed why would they start the second stringers and lose that spot?

There are teams that do that. The dilemma is whether you risk losing momentum or getting rusty by not playing your starters as you head into the playoffs. THe upside is your starters won't get hurt and your backups get some valuable experience.

If you have never seen this, you have never watched a Tony Dungy coached team totally blow a good season at the end. He's a master at losing in the playoffs.

No I think they just want to keep them active and call plays that are on the conservative, simple things like what you suggest can get the starters down, they do have feeling
