...will 2007 be the year Americans in high power actually look at the Constitution with a fresh pair of eyes, and act accordingly?

No Max...thinking about the 1789 writing thereof - if it get's 'changed', then obviously that would be a bad thing, hmm?

David - have relatives in Philadelphia (no less), and like many British boys who went to good schools, was made to read the history...but never mind - I'm sure what side of the tracks you're on, and whatever argument I offer, you will never agree. Sorry, David.

Nice one Gary T...so - it's used as 'history' rather than 'rules' - but is it not amazing when a party - be it Democrats or Republicans are in a wee corner, they will quote a part of the Constitution that they think will shut up the questioner...certain verses are best to be kept for 'special situations', huh - id est; winning of modern arguments.

Nice one Robespierre...there's always one! Well, I have relatives in the US (some who have spent their lives there). Not too keen on fellow Brits who think they have no need to know the 'rules' of other countries - but like it or not...as long as 'top-draw' MP's in our wee country bow to the mass of land three thousand miles west - and the decisions of their presidents (which people of Yahoo UK will comment on now and then...as you even have now and then - if not of their constitution, but of their people - pretty strongly as well, at times), us wee Brits will forever comment - and if our next Prime Minister feels he/she will have to bow the same way to US decisions - and make us do the same, only Allah knows what'll happen next (as he always have, apparently).
