I really wanted to like it. there were some great effects on show but it was too fast and a lot of the humour got lost in the chaos. What do you lot think?

I loved it. It was fast and relentless - it needed to be. If the Doctor has time to slow down then the pain of losing his best friend to the other side of the Void would have been to much for him. Who wants to see an hour of the Doctor being sad?
I thought it had a lot of real Christmas themes in it too:
- queueing for ages for a cash machine.
- someone who claims to hate it all actually enjoys it.
- discovering someone has not been following the news all year.
- someone dancimg with your boyfriend at the party.
- madcap rushing around the town.
- problems with traffic.
It's just so Christmassy.

After the first 10 seconds I forgot Donna was Catherine Tate - I really did! I am glad there were no "bovered", or "what a f*ck*ng liberty" references.

And doesn't the next series look soooo good? Martha Jones seems to be fun (and she is really pretty!) and the Daleks are in it again and Sontarans (a blast from the past!) - they were the ones in black armour with huge heads.

Try watching it again and see if you like it more the second time. I am sure you will! Have a great boxing day and don't forget the new Doctor Who episodes on BBC RADIO 7 starting New Year's Day!

It really wasn't all that was it? Can't wait for the doc's arch enemies to show up in the next series though-the sonarians, and of course the daleks. Fair do's to David Tennant, who does a grand job, but when i was a kid the time lords used to be a lot older-the first one was a positively ancient old crone-so i think that for me the older the doc the better the programme it used to be. Also-lets visit some different planets for a change-it all seems to be about earth-but it wasn't alway's so!!

I agree i waited for the Christmas special with great anticipation but was disappointed there was a great amount of graphics and special effect that has been Dr.whos main contributor to its many new fans. but it indeed lost the humour that makes the Dr.who series so worth watching and that gives it the special edge. but after the special the BBC didn't disappoint as it gave a glimpse of the next series from what Ive seen from that clip Russell T Davies hasn't disappointed and will be revealing a thrilling series of Dr.Who next year i for one will be waiting for this series with baited breath

I enjoyed the storyline surrounding David Morrissey's character however the plot regarding the cybermen replaced into incorrect. the main suitable pastime factor of the episode replaced into whether or no longer David Morrissey replaced into somewhat the subsequent healthcare expert and now that i've got seen him in action, i'm style of dissatisfied that he's not the subsequent healthcare expert - i presumed he replaced into somewhat good!! the reason of the cybermen touchdown in Victorian London replaced right into a great way too handy yet different than for the remarkable cyber colours, the cybermen themselves did no longer somewhat do lots different than create the Cyber King - who additionally did no longer do very lots. The senior cyberman with the black mask and uncovered suggestions appeared like he had the flair to be style of menacing yet lower back, he did no longer somewhat do something and then he have been given destroyed :( the vast cyber-robotic-device ingredient on the top replaced into enormously good although particularly while it started stomping for the duration of the streets.

I think that they used so much action and good sequences with great effects at the beginning of the episode, the rest seemed unimpressive and therefore lost a bit of magic.
On the whole I think the new series is great and well done Russell whom had his work cut out.
I hope the Tardis isn't going to start shooting up in the air all the time.
Have a magical New Year! XX

The pantomime villain didn't quite hit the spot for me.

Catherine Tate - I can take or leave anyway, but it was good to see a female who wasn't a superhero, just a normal-ish person.

The doctor - they need to sort him out. The emptional swings are too great. I like the darker side of his nature that is being explored, but it doesn't sit well with the flippancy he shows.

I loved it. The effects were impressive, and the character of Donna was a perfect foil for the Doctor - "a woman whose idea of excitement is a new flavour of pringles" - who would then slap the Doc & punch the monster if it commented on her weight.

The spider queen was an eyefull, even though she didnt chase them around.

I wasnt sure about David Tennant at first, (the Cat Nurse episode was awful) but hes grown into the role.

It was absolute rubbish.

But so was most of the last series.

The Christmas Invasion was the only decent piece of writing David Tennant has been given to work with since taking over the role.

It needed two hours.
That's been the main fault with the whole series. Trying to squeeze into the 45 minute time slot.
Perhaps they (The BBC) need a Tardis!
