Give it to the other people who need it most. But if the gift was given by your mates or children, I mean the gift maybe carefully chosen by them, it may hurt them if you send it out. I used to choose one of the fellowing measures:

1\ Accept the gift and never use it.
2\ Talk about some people who really need it unconsciously with your family, see what you can do according to their reaction.

I gave out what are called " Cross worry Stones " which are supposed to be carried in a pocket or purse and when one feels stressed they are to handle these stones until they feel better. was a gag gift but some of the recipients actually liked them.

I received a nice set of hair accessories, brushes combs ETC: that are a nice arranged plastic bag, I don't really need them, so I will save them and give them as gift to someone else, maybe my secret sister..

I didn't get anything useless this year. I recieved money from both my grandparents, a scarf, body spray, and jewelry from my brothers and their wives, and my parents gave me a kitchen aid stand mixer and a couple of sweaters. So I guess all of mine I will use.

it wasnt thoughtless but my mum should have known better, she bought me a pair of slippers, that looked to small at first view, but she thought she would buy them anyway, they fit my 6 year old daughter (who is five sizes smaller than me), so thats who is having them now lol
