when i studied art, we got taught to do a grid ..
say take a photo of what you want to draw
then draw square grids on it and also on your blank piece of paper
then your aim is to draw a grid at a time .. until you have drawn the complete picture.
its a good training tool until you become confident to draw freestyle :)

The basic anime compents is spiky wierd colored hair very small and sharp nose lines for a mouth(no lip detail ) tangler shaped head all different types of eyes but all i know there not normal

try drawing all your lines in one solid pass. if you want to learn more, I found many Aname books at Hastings.
