I want to buy a new laptop with processor atleast 1.6 ghz, 256mb ram, 40 gb hdd, wi-fi, card reader, combo dirive and 15 or 15 inch monitor. My budget is Rs.30000. However not stuck to the brand which is the one that would satisfy my needs in the given budget. One more thing windows xp genuine if not included would also do.

I got my Compaq V5000 widescreen at Circuit City very cheap. It meets all your requirements plus more, and it has proven to be a very good laptop.

anything but dell..the service is lousy and the equipment is not vista compatiblie...try toshiba or compaq...i service computers and both seem to hold up.
