I have nothing against black people at all... I just want to know why rap is sooo popular even though all they ever do is degrade women in it.. I myself can't stand songs like Lil Jon "Get Low".. "Laffy Taffy" I can't remember the artist of that one or even Akon "Smack That"

I'm not racist or anything.. but my opinion on acting black is talking slang like black some blacks do or sagging your pants halfway off your ***.. i'm not saying that all black people do that but the "gansta" ones do.. and that is what white, mexican and oriental guys and girls that listen to rap do.. they dress like black "gansta's" do..

Its just all the hype that has been created by the musicians and the media. I do like the music, but i dont ever want to act like them. That is not me, that is not my identity. I did watch an oprah show once about this, how youngsters thinks its cool to act like this. So its just how it has been protrayed to the public and so that is why people think its cool. They think that they are 'out of it' if there not like that.

i do not experience that rap replaced into once meant for african human beings least confusing, that is basically that the overall public african human beings concentration to it. i does not have a capture 22 situation with white persons taking recognize rap, persons like what they prefer. there is not this kind of element as performing black or white. some persons stay the single mind-set that they comprehend. I have friends tease me about the superb way that I talk. They tell me i'm a black white woman. It does not hardship me. I basically communicate good english, and that i'm specialist.

I like rap, but I don't "act black." I am quite white and I act ME. Not all rap degrades women, and I listen to mostly rap that doesn't. I guess I just like the beat. There are also many female hip-hop/R&B artists whom I like.

I agree! We all have equal tasted in music and we shouldn't be ashamed of showing it. My friends love listening to all of this rap and acting black. I don't have anything against black people either but I find that people want to be 'COOL' like them. I have my own tastes in music and I am not ashamed of showing it.

rap is popular because corporate radio has forced this crap into peoples ears cause thats what they want you to like and narrow minded kids latch on to it
They dont only degrade women,they degrade te entire human race with the marble mouthed ebonics.

its pop culture. pop culture can make anything into a fad. i wouldnt be surprised if in 30 years it will be cool to sniff baby powder. and dont stereotype because not all black people and rappers degrade women. you should use words like "why do most" never ALL.

There are plenty of rap songs that do not degrade women. there are plenty of rock songs that do. Ever hear Crazy B@tch by Buckcherry? I think what people like is a matter of personal taste. I like a bit of everthing.
