The earth must revolve about the sun in a nearly circular path at a fixed speed and distance to balance the gravitational forces attracting it toward the sun against forces of momentum that would cause the earth to fly out of the solar system. If the earth slows, it will approach or even fall into the sun. If the earth speeds up it will fly away. However, there is no energy available to change the speed of the earth unless a massive object strikes it.

Due to universal gravitational force of attraction all the planets revolve round the Sun

Dear Ahsan:

I am sorry that I cannot understand what you are asking.

The Earth is almost a perfect ball or sphere like a huge tennis ball.

The Sun is roughly the same shape only much, much bigger.
