The USA has for a long time now been obsessed with Political Correctness. When I was working there in the late 90s for a major corporation, every year a memo would come round which laid down the guidelines for office decor at Christmas time. One could have a banner saying Happy Holidays, Seasonal Greetings and so on, but nothing more specific than that. The frustrating part was that other ethnic groups could celebrate their holidays any way they wished to with whatever wording they wanted. Similarly, there exists over there, magazines and shows dedicated to Black Music for example, but if you try to publish a magazine dedicated to white (subject) you are immediately branded a racist. Unfortunately, this asinine way of thinking is making its way into British society.

I think it's a laugh! Half the world at each others throats and Fox are worried about two words as if it's going to make a difference. I don't see a problem with Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Divine Diwali, Right-on Ramadam etc. Ps. hope my spelling hasn't offended anyone!

I think that everyone is too concerned with being politically correct ALL of the time. Yes i know that not everyone celebrates Christmas, but a lot of ppl do, so why can't i say Merry Christmas? I'm sorry if saying that would offend ppl, but is someone said happy Kwanza to me, i wouldn't be mad i would just point out that i didn't celebrate that, not a big deal. I guess ppl just take things too seriously nowadays.

Was it just one person? Or everybody on Fox? I heard plenty of people say Merry Christmas every where on TV/news including PBS and others. May be you just seek out those who say happy holidays. Everybody is making such a big deal out of it. Even you. What are you Christmas cop? Patrol neighborhood and whip people for saying happy holidays?

I think that if you put up a Christmas tree, then you should say merry Christmas, as simple as that. If you are going to say happy holidays, then put up a Christmas tree, a Hanukkah bush, a Festivus pole and a Kwanzaa thing, then say happy holidays. It's all getting a bit too ridiculous.

Everyone appears to be caving to "political correctness". It is truly the bane of our times. They don't have any balls whatsoever. I say Merry Christmas, out loud and often. Its the season. I have been doing this all of my life and I have never offended anyone. I have some friends who are Jewish and I say Happy Hanukkah to them, and they say Merry Christmas to me.

It is not my wish to offend anyone, when I say it, I mean it.

Outrageous, propesterous, criminal, shameful, shocking, odious, despicable, disgraceful, indecent, insulting and by far in itself the greatest insult and offend to "a" religious sect : CHRISTIAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Have we no right either to be safe from offense. Isn't that an offense towards us? Preventing and BANNING, us from celebrating the birth of our lord?

We don't we ban shoes next because some people might be offended by them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can assure you all that even non-christians (the majoritgy that are not complete dumheads) like christmas. Foreven though it may not have a religious meaning its still a time to enjoy with friends!!! ITS CHRISTMA FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Are you sure? I heard a commentaor say ' Merry Christmas' yesterday. Also why would a right wing Republican station like Fox do otherwise?
