" Three more American soldiers were killed in Iraq, officials said Tuesday, pushing the U.S. military death toll to at least 2,975 — two more than the number killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks."

Has it been worth it?

If our troops didn't have to fight the media along with the insurgents, they'd be home and there would have been fewer casualties.

If America were united in this war, we would have been able to get in and get out with fewer casualties. When the president has to deal with the antics of the press, Micheal moores, Cindy Sheehans and the people that pay them, his focus is drawn away from finishing the job. So many of our men have died because of the people that hate the President so much that they don't want him to have any credit when the war is over.

During WWII, our country was united and the press wasn't ALLOWED to report what they do now. They weren't allowed to tell the enemies secrets. Almost any man that could, went in the military. Many many lives were lost and our country was united. I don't meet many men over 80 that aren't Veterans. I am working with Veteran's every day, and every single one of them is a hero. A true hero. Go volunteer at a veteran's hospital and talk to those men & women. I feel honored and blessed when I am around them. They have made America what it is today.

What kind of question is this, of course it has been worth it. So far we have spent over 1/2 a trillion DOLLARS in these wars, I am sure that the big money is more than willing to extend this WAR in Iraq for as long as they can, because for them, once the WAR is over the PARTY is over.
Note: I dont think defence contractors like the Marine Corps, they seem to always use all gear, for instance the Cobra Attack helicopter, wich means they dont buy the latest and greates. Yet they accomplpish more with less.

NO. It's never worth it. Worse. Nobody appreciates. Nobody but the grieving families of the 3,000 killed in action. Some fella here said to look at "the bigger picture". WHAT pray tell is the bigger picture?

Does the US fear another Pearl Harbor? No way. It IS the World's No.1 superpower hands down.

Does it fear a nuclear Iran? Doubt it. USA has enough nuclear warheads to turn the MidEast into desert overnight.

Does it fear an oil shortage? Highly unlikely. Too many muslim friends in the world. C'mon money is always more attractive than Islam.

North America is comfortably isolated from the madness of ideology-religion-crazies in the MidEast by vast tracts of watery ocean. Geographically, the US is one of the safest places on planet earth. Ask the 7 million muslims living in the States.

9/11? You've already kicked Taliban asszzzes into oblivion already.

Asked like one who probably believes we deserved to be attacked on 911 for all the 'evil' we've caused in the world. To those that despise the values that have made America the greatest nation in human history, i'm sure even one life is not worth protecting the USA!

Maybe for normal human beings, NOTHING is worth the death of one fellow human being.
But in the jungle of Oil companies, politicians, MONEY and MORE MONEY,
POWER, you know the crazy dream OF RULING THE WORLD,
what are a few 2,975 sacrifices!!!

It depends on your point of view it would be nice to say nobody will die in war or nobody will go to work and have a plane smash into their place of work but we don't live in a world like that all we can do is thank and pray for our troops over there and be glad they do make a difference.
