I'm like that too!!! I'm 23 and I listen to music made well before my time... particularly Led Zeppelin!!!

I'm slightly older than you are and when I was your age, my playlist did include Pat Benatar (power riot grrl! love is a battlefield!), The Ramones and The Beatles (Hey Jude is a fave).
Really, go ahead and groove your butt to any type of music you love and don't worry if you're not "following the trend".

you've got good taste. i still listen to pat benatar, the clash, sex pistols, ramones. to me, most of the stuff on the radio right now, sounds the same.
everybody has the right to listen to what ever they want. it's cool you're not just following what everybody else is doing. rock on!

Hey I think its cool you prefer them I am as well 16 and listen to those types as well I mean when i was younger I rebelled what everyone was listening and listened to what i like which was like oldies from the 50's and 40's but as I got older you know I just started listening to differnt types expanding my variety and now I don't totally hate the music I rebelled against (which as rap,hip hop etc.) Its just a matter of choice while I chose to listen to Beatles,Blondie ,Queen, as well as Akon,Eminem, as well as Dixie Chick,Kenny Rogers Dolly Parton its just a mater of what you like be what you are which is cool =D

I just had this conversation with my b/f. Our tastes run from the true classics to country to celtic to heavy metal from the great hair bands.
Our conclusion was that music is something that speaks to the soul and you have to listen to what touches you as an individual. You cannot force your soul into a mold cast for someone else. Trying to do so will only make you unhappy.
Follow your own bliss and listen to what touches you.

While I can't stand the Beatles, I think that you have excellent taste! The newer stuff is so marketing and media based. You sound like an old soul. Don't worry about what others say!

i'm 15 and i listen to the cocteau twins, the cure, my bloody valentine, nirvana, sonic youth, smashing pumpkins, radiohead, pixies etc.
i'm not surprised due to the fact that the mainstream 'rock' (my chemical romance, fall out boy) is total ****.
i do like new alt.rock bands though, ie. interpol, bloc party, etc.

Cool that you enjoy artists that you actually like and not to fit a trend like all the stuff today.Theres tons of great bands from that era,look and you will find.......M x mas

Pat Benatar sucks. The others are cool. Listen to whatever you want....it kinda sucks you'll never see most of them in concert though.
