if you are mechanically in clined you can do it yourself but it is not easy, but not that hard that it cannot be done, but a service guy will charge about 50 bucks just to come to your house,plus the part cost and the labor.

First, be sure that it is the heating unit that is dead. I assume this is electric, not gas, and you've already gone through the diagnostics, including checking heat limit sensors, timer switch, etc. Depending on the location of the unit it may or may not be easy to access. You may try ordering another one from Sears Appliance Parts (toll free in Chicago) which has parts for many different brands of major appliances. Give them the brand/model/serial of your dryer. 800-469-4663.
