Pakistan is all weather friend of china. it had good relationships with all countries except India and Afghanistan. fundies in pak will not agree with normal relations with India unless Kashmir is merged with pak so no question of india pakistan union. the pragmatic approach should be the union of india, russia and china to thwart the hegemony of the usa which has become world cop.

It would be nice to see both sides get along and conform to one, but the reality is that they cannot tolerate each other. Remember, both are armed at nukes aimed at each other.

Pakistan is filled with Muslim zealots who will fight against any Vedic influence. Hindu families will want to reclaim their ancestral lands back in Pakistan (such as Sindhi people).

Gandhi wanted to keep both sides reunited, but the powers of Britain divided India. Before trying to merge Pakistan with India, lets try quelling relations with both nations first and also stopping the genocide in Kashmir. The problem is violence between Muslims and Hindus. If one can solve this, they are trully a genius or a prophet.

I had not heard of a proposed Pakistani-Indian union.
First, it does not sound feasible. Too many religious differences, in a region of the world, where religious differences are important to the people who practice them.
My opinion of such a union however is split.
On one hand, it could bring much needed stability to the region, and relieve one nuclear pressure valve, between 2 nuclear powers that have been at odds with each other for quite a while.
On the other. Should we have the need to. It could make it difficult to deal out negative consequences to Pakistan, if they are allied, with India who we are on friendly terms with.

Good, I think whole south-east Asia, infact Asia should unite as one for Economic Development and poverty elimination.

Pakistan-India particularly, yes, their problems are a big road-block in the development of south-east Asia.

I wish they come out of their blocked mindset to think good of their region.
