OK so i am i have a linksys router and linksys adapter in my house. i use the adapter and get 11 mbps and excellent connection. I play online games a lot. But some of my games lag and i know its not my video card or anything else. Im pretty sure if i connect my comp to the router with a cord i get 100 mbps. Will this have a change at all on my gaming? and is there any other way to get more mbps without a direct connection since my comp is upstairs and other comp is downstairs?

Certainly a higher connection speed will help. But do remember that not all lag is in your system or network. You didn't say what kind of online games you play, but MMO's in particular are vulnerable to server lag. And that, nothing you can do will stop. I'd recommend trying a direct connection and see if that helps.
