Try these tips listed by HP.
white fabric: If ink from a HP Inkjet print cartridge spills on your clothing, use chlorine bleach and cold water to remove the stain.
Color fabric: Ink from most HP print cartridges should wash out with sudsy ammonia and cold water.

They suggest contacting HP Customer Care for other fabrics. I think they could have different recommendations depending on whether the ink is dye-based or carbon black-based. Of course, this is assuming you're using an HP ink cartridge.

I have encountered that prob too.
There are some cleaning agents you can use;
Resolve, Oxy spray and BAM. I have used all of them and they all work very well. Just dab at first until you can get as much of the stuff off first then spray again and rub clean. Make sure you use a white towel other wise you will cause another stain. When finished use a dry white towel, dry virg, but take cation to the carpet pile.

Try alcohol. Blot the spot with a cloth dampened with it and repeat until spot is gone. Test fabric first in an inconspicuous area to make sure the alcohol won't damage the carpet. This works on clothing also.
