Why do they vote in churches?

Question

If liberals want to take God out of everything having to do with the government....why then does the government use churches as voting stations?

Seems like that would be in violation of the separation of church and state law that they are always crying about. Should they be crying to the government about having to go to a church to vote?

Where would these polling stations be if they didn't have them in churches?

I just asked a similar question about why do government officials celebrate Christmas and Easter (two very christian holidays and paid holidays for them) The response was basically I'm a idiot. lol. I have no idea why they vote in churches it does seem like quite a contradiction. Maybe you should put this in another category, because I really would like to know now. You don't seem to be getting any responses in here.

Simply because it is a point of congregation, just like schools. It may be hard to believe, but it really doesn't have anything to do with a belief in a god.

If anything, I think that would be a poor place to having a voting poll, due to the nature and setting of the building.

Here in New Jersey, we have voting polls in schools and libraries. I haven't heard or seen of voting polls in churches. Ironically, I have seen posters for blood drives in churches though, and I know some religious figures look down on donating blood.

Besides, this question sounds like a bias towards the government not caving into one faith. If the government was so harsh, churches, mosques, temples, mandirs, etc. wouldn't be tax free organizations. :)

First of all you are misinformed about "Liberals" wanting to take God out of Government! I am a registered Democrat and I am a Christian! I am a Sunday School Teacher! The Democrats do much to help the poor which in keeping with God's law! Oh! I just get all boiled up by those brain washing republicans! The people who truly believe there stupid lies! Oh! Anyway the poling place has nothing to do with political beliefs it is a building large enough to house the voting booths! In my town we don't vote in Churches but if you say so I believe you.
