How to Remove Taps from a Laundry Trough?

We have one of the australian laundry troughs. The taps are connected to piping through a wooden wall. We want to remove these without too much mess and hassel. How can we disconnect them easily ??? Many thanks in advance!

There should be a flat point on the taps.This is where you put a wrench, and turn counter-clockwise. Make sure and turn the water off first.
